Part and assembly sheets
Piece marks, dimensions, approved holes and welds, material notes, and shop-versus-field work for main and miscellaneous steel.
Outsource a steel package or add detailing capacity for your next release. We coordinate shop drawings, erection plans and agreed fabrication files around your numbering, review process and production requirements.

Fabricator deliverables
Your saw operator, fitter and field crew use different parts of the same package. We scope the drawings and files around who will use them, then keep piece marks and revisions consistent across the handoff.
Piece marks, dimensions, approved holes and welds, material notes, and shop-versus-field work for main and miscellaneous steel.
Grids, levels and member locations for the field. Anchor or embed layouts and connection references are included as scoped.
Material lists and agreed NC/DSTV, DXF or model exports matched to the shop’s file naming and validation requirements.
Shop handoff
On a commercial framing package, a revised beam end can affect the assembly drawing, a plate part, the material list and the machine file. Update the affected items together and flag which release they belong to. If a connection is still waiting on direction, isolate the affected work so the shop knows what is on hold.
This matters on multi-story offices, healthcare expansions and warehouse projects where steel may be released by floor, bay or erection sequence. Confirm the approval and release procedure in the contract. AISC 303 is a reference for approval documents when it applies. AISC Code of Standard Practice

Release checklist
| Package item | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Shop drawings | Assembly and part marks match the material list. Check that views, dimensions and weld notes follow the shop’s convention. |
| Erection drawings | Field locations match member marks, grids and elevations. Keep anchor and embed information tied to the approved details. |
| NC/DSTV and model exports | Confirm file names, units, profiles and machine conventions. Agree on a sample import check with the fabricator before relying on the export. |
| Revision package | Keep the drawing register, affected sheets, model and exports aligned. Identify which areas are ready for release and which are still on hold. |

Detailing workflow
Agree on sheet templates, numbering, material conventions, machine limits, finish notes and required exports.
Check grids, elevations and approved connection criteria. Track missing information by affected member or release area.
Submit the agreed package with a drawing index. Record comments and identify the assemblies affected by each revision.
Check that drawings, lists and agreed exports match the same revision. Flag superseded files so the shop can keep them out of production.
Fabricator FAQs
Answers on shop standards, overflow capacity, phased work and production files.
See our quality checksYes. Share a representative drawing set, title block, piece-mark rules, dimension conventions and material report examples. We agree on the expected format and check a sample early when the scope calls for it.
Yes. Define the areas, sequences or assemblies you want detailed and identify the interfaces with your in-house team. We agree on numbering, model ownership and release responsibilities before work starts.
Tell us which machine and model formats your team needs. Where agreed in the scope, exports are issued with the matching drawing revision. The fabricator should verify imports with its equipment and production settings.
Connection design responsibility follows the contract. We detail to approved connection information and flag missing criteria. When delegated design or sealed calculations are required, identify the responsible licensed engineer and review process.
Yes, when the project information and review schedule support it. Provide the planned sequences, priority areas and procurement dates so we can identify dependencies and package boundaries.
We identify the affected marks and agree how the change will be issued. Revised sheets and any affected exports should be tracked together so the shop can identify superseded files and coordinate work already in progress.
Send current structural and architectural drawings, relevant specifications and addenda, approved connection criteria if available, your shop standards, required outputs and target submittal or release dates.
